We are considering riders for our Team PB Performance for 2021.
For 2021, our goal remains to support and develop riders on the road to national level whilst continuing to support and strengthen our existing regional team.
As a result, we are considering riders for our team on two fronts:
For the 2021 season, the team wishes to again support the development of U23 riders and those wishing bridge the gap between regional racing and the step up to national level. In addition, we strive to attain top 20 and top 10 results in the national road series. During 2019, and heading into 2020 before covid-19 ended the season, it was clear we have the capacity and look to continue this journey with our current riders and recruit to further bolster this.
Preferably, riders will be have gained at least their first category license, however applications will be accepted from second category and over 23 riders who can demonstrate appropriate progression and aspiration through their racing or the experience/performances that can support the younger riders and achieve results for the team.
Our passion is the development and education of riders within a supportive and ethical environment.
The race programme will be a balance of National B and National A races to give a breadth of opportunities. Our programme will include the national road series, UCI International Cicle Classic and the Tour Series; these races, where applicable, will be supported with team car, mechanic, soigneur and coaching support. Rider programmes can be individually discussed and tailored to maximise results and development.
At a regional level, we are looking to continue our strong presence and success in the East Midlands Road Race League (EMRRL) and regional races. These riders may also have the opportunity to join the team at national level races where appropriate opportunities arise. Our regional team offers the opportunity to progress to our national team in future; a pathway that has seen numerous riders successfully do so.
To ensure a guaranteed six riders in each of the EMRRL rounds, and to support racing, we will look to promote a league race again in 2021. Ideally riders will be based in the Midlands. As well as the road disciplines, we are also keen to encourage riders in Cyclo-Cross, MTB and track cycling disciplines and support the development of all levels of athlete; beginner to elite.
